Handing in our notices, and leaving great salaries behind us, (sometimes it’s not just about the money, right?) Martin & myself, stepped into the creative world armed only with our lap MacBooks, looking for our first prospective client. In fact, it was Friday 13th April 2018, (neither of us are superstitious!) as we excitedly launched Paperock Creative. Within the first week, gained our very first client - whoopee!
Unexpectedly, in the December of 2018, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. “What? No, it can’t... we’ve just started our own business!” I remember saying to my surgeon. It has got to have been one of the hardest times of my life and after a full year of successful treatment; three operations before finally having a mastectomy, followed by chemotherapy along with the hair loss, bed-ridden-feeling-sick-as-a-dog days, a PICC line stuck in my arm for easy access of medication & radiotherapy sessions, I was given the all-clear. Surgeries are still happening though, as cancer just doesn’t end there unfortunately.
November 2019 saw us back up to a full team, finally, then Covid19 put the whole world on hold.

To say it’s not been easy year for any of us is a bloody understatement, fortunately, we have been able to carry on working, during the pandemic, and we have steadily grown over the last two years, gaining regular clients and are looking forward to another busy year.
So yes, forgive me, but today I am going to shout out LOUDLY on our THIRD BIRTHDAY because - after all that - why the hell not!
Happy Birthday to Paperock Creative!
